About
Konstantin A. Maslov
NP3M Postdoctoral Fellow · University of Houston
I am a theoretical nuclear physicist working on strongly coupled matter: the quark–gluon plasma created in heavy-ion collisions and the dense matter in neutron-star cores. My tools range from relativistic mean-field and chiral quark models to self-consistent diagrammatic calculations anchored to lattice QCD.
I am a fellow of the NSF Focused Research Hub “Nuclear Physics from Multi-Messenger Mergers” (NP3M) at the University of Houston. With R. Rapp (Texas A&M University) I developed the first real-frequency, self-consistent T-matrix calculation of strongly coupled quark matter at large density; it predicts that deconfined matter in neutron-star cores would form a strongly coupled diquark liquid.
I received my PhD from the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” in Moscow with Prof. Dmitry N. Voskresensky, developing relativistic mean-field models with scalar-field-scaled hadron masses and couplings that resolve the hyperon puzzle. I then worked at the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics, JINR (Dubna), and at Central Asian University (Tashkent).
